Congressional Award
StarWise International Education is committed to cultivating students' sense of community service and leadership, organizing and guiding students to participate in various local volunteer activities, including the Student Union, Habitat for Humanity, the Marine Corps Conservation Academy, the Homeless Shelter Support Fund, the World Animal Protection Fund, the Rerose Club, and the Autism Care Foundation. When students have accumulated sufficient hours across public service, personal development, and physical fitness, our mentors will assist them in applying for the Congressional Award, the U.S. Congress' official award for young Americans, which carries the endorsement of Congress itself and is highly recognized in college applications.
The Congressional Award was established in 1979 by Public Law 96-114 as the United States Congress' own award for young Americans. Unlike a competitive prize, it recognizes personal initiative and achievement — participants set their own goals and are not compared against one another.
